Know, like and trust

All things being equal, people will do business with those people they know, like and trust. – Bob Burg This is an axiom of business success – one well worth tattooing on your brain – it’s that important.  Think about it – who do you do business with?  Do you give repeat business to people you despise or don’t trust?  Probably not, if you are like the majority of people. As a leader, the question becomes – How do I get the people I work with and the people I do business for to know, like and trust me? We quickly find that there is no set answer to this.  While Mary Ann likes to be coached through her problems, Joe gets resentful whenever a suggestion is offered regarding his work.  Some customers want to be kings, others just want the job done.  We adopt a management method from the latest book, or try to emulate what we’ve heard about Steve Jobs… it works… with some or not at all, but not consistently across the board.
